Video Guide
Overview of Otter AI
Otter AI automatically generates summaries, outlines, and captioning tracks for videos. This tool is essential for content creators and accessibility experts to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
Key Features
- Summary Tab: Provides an automatic and comprehensive summary of video content.
- Action Items: Generates actionable tasks based on the video’s content.
- Outline View: Displays an organized outline of the video content.
- AI Chat Feature: Offers context-specific answers to user queries.
- Integration: Allows users to copy summaries and outlines into applications like Microsoft Word.
- Audio Playback: Users can play back specific sections of the transcript.
Using the Summary Tab
The Summary tab in Otter AI appears at the top when you select an uploaded video. It provides a comprehensive summary of the content.
Creating Accessible Documents
The Summary tab also generates a list of action items from the video. These items can be assigned to team members or oneself to ensure tasks are completed. Examples of action items shown in the video above, include creating accessible agenda templates, checking color contrast, fixing tab order, and uploading the agenda back into Streamline.

Outline Feature
The Outline feature provides a detailed breakdown of the video content. Select a specific section of the outline to jump directly to that part of the transcript. Once there, users can play the audio back, making it easy to review and edit specific sections.
Check out the video guide for a practical example of how this plays out.
AI Chat Feature
The AI Chat feature in Otter AI prompts users with context-specific questions. For instance, from our video transcript, Otter Chat asked whether fixing a tag order issue resolved an accessibility problem when converting a Word document to a PDF. This feature enhances user interaction and provides valuable insights based on the video’s content.
