How to build an Accessibility Statement in the Accessible Web RAMP Platform

How to build an accessibility statement in Accessible Web RAMP

Today’s post is a step-by-step guide on how to set up an accessibility statement using the Accessible Web RAMP platform.

Video Guide

An accessibility statement is a public-facing document on a website or app that explains your organization’s commitment, progress, and policies related to digital accessibility for people with disabilities.

It acts as a pledge of inclusivity. It tells users:

  • Which accessibility standards you follow, such as WCAG or Section 508

  • How your site conforms to those standards

  • How users can report accessibility issues

Publishing an accessibility statement gives you a strong first step toward meeting Title II deadlines.

Start in the Compliance Center

After you load your website into the Accessible Web RAMP platform, go to the Compliance Center tab.

Select Establish Your Accessibility Page, then click Manage Statement.

You have two options for creating your statement:

  1. Use the AI Accessibility Statement Generator

  2. Complete a structured form

You can link your finished statement page directly to your account once you complete it.

Use the AI Accessibility Statement Generator

Launch the AI Accessibility Statement Generator.

We asked it to create an accessibility statement aligned with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Then selected Send.

The built-in chat asks follow-up questions to tailor the statement to your organization.

Example Questions the AI Asks

This is how we interacted with the tool in our companion video:

  • What is your average response time for accessibility inquiries?
Answer: We typically respond within five business days.

  • What known accessibility limitations exist on your website?
Answer: Some widgets cause accessibility issues.

  • Which regulations should the statement reference?
    We included:

    • ADA Title III

    • Section 508

    • European Accessibility Act

  • What steps are you taking to improve accessibility?
Answer: We are using the RAMP platform to identify and resolve issues.

  • Do you have a target date for accessibility goals?
    Answer: April 24, 2026.

  • What contact information should users use?
    Answer: shawn@theaccessibilityguy.com.

You can also add a second contact method if needed.

Review the Generated Statement

After you answer the questions, the platform generates your accessibility statement.

The document includes:

  • The creation date

  • A commitment to accessibility

  • Standards and regulations referenced

  • Known limitations

  • Ongoing improvement efforts

  • Contact information

  • Future goals

You can publish this statement on your website right away.

Use the Structured Form for More Detail

If you need a more comprehensive accessibility statement, return to the Compliance Center and choose the form option instead of the AI chat.

The form allows you to document:

  • Detailed comments

  • Accessibility advocates

  • Website technologies

  • WCAG assessments

  • Additional compliance information

This option works well if you have completed a deeper review and want to reflect that detail in your public statement.

Save and Link Your Accessibility Page

Once you complete your statement, add the URL of your accessibility page into your Accessible Web RAMP account.

Select Save Accessibility Page to finalize the connection.

You now have a published accessibility statement that outlines your standards, progress, and contact process while supporting your path toward compliance.
